Just Out: Google Wallet & Android Pay

Send and receive money with the new Google Wallet app, or tap and pay with Android Pay

Google Wallet

Designed for your Android or iOS device, anyone in the US with an email address can use Google Wallet to send and receive money. Non-Google-Wallet users can also receive money, and while non-users can’t send money, they can withdraw cash with a debit card, or a linked bank account.

Google Wallet is making it easy, quick and dress to send money straight from your Wallet Balance, bank account or debit card. You can download Google Wallet via Google Play and the App Store.

We hope Google Wallet makes it’s way Down Under!

Android Pay

Tap. Pay. Done. With Android Pay, you can pay with your Android phone at over one million locations in the US, as well as store your special offers, gift cards and loyalty cards on your phone. Android Pay are looking to constantly innovate, adding more features, banks and store locations over the next few months. So, if you’re in the US and have the right account with Amex, Discover, MasterCard or Visa, you’re ready to tap and pay with your Android phone!

Android Pay is keeping your personal and financial details secure, and is supported by industry standard “tokenisation”, which means that a virtual account number is sent over with your payment, keeping your financial institution card number away from hackers. This extra layer of security will see that you’ll also get confirmation of the transaction, making it easy to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity.

If you see a “suspicious” purchase or two from a designer shoe store, please just check with your girlfriend or boyfriend first before calling the authorities!

If your phone is lost or stolen, you can tap into your Android Device Manager to quickly lock your device, secure it with a new access code and even clear the memory of your personal information.

Google Wallet with Android Pay

Existing Google Wallet users can access Android Pay through an update to the Google Wallet app. New users might have to wait a few days for Android Pay to be available for download in Google Play.

Happy shopping!
